E.R.E.S. Camper Useful Resources and RV Rental FAQ

Best places in Florida to visit during your vacation

These are great starting points for Florida RV / Motorhome Camping:

Check out #1 Campground in this List below out of all 50 states, we've stayed at Boyds and it is truly a great location to explore all that Key West has to offer. Highly recommend it.:

1. Boyd's Key West Campground, Key West, Florida

Boyd's Key West Campground/Facebook

One for beach bums, Boyd's Key West Campground is right on the waterfront. The park is family-owned and operated, with an inviting heated pool, elevated facilities (think full hook-up sites and gleaming bathhouses) and plenty of spots overlooking the ocean. Typical activities include morning yoga sessions and sunset cruises (see present availability when you book). Dry Tortugas National Park, with its colourful corals and marine life, is close by too.

We will list additional favorite spots and recommendations soon. A good rule of thumb to enjoy your trip even more is to stay at a campground approximately the same number of days as it took you to get there. Example, drive 4 hours, stay 4 days. Follow this 'formula' and you wont feel like you're coming and going and you'll get more of a relaxing and chillin overall experience.

Driving a a Class C Motorhome RV for the first time - You've got this..!

Driving a Class C RV for the first time can be stressful. Adrenaline is high as you embark on your RV adventure and your family is next to you, all excited and ready to hit the road. Keep in mind what they say, "slow is pro". Take your time, go slow and soon you'll be on sitting back and enjoying your campsite with your loved ones. I recommend checking out Outdoorsy's Guide to Driving a Class C Motorhome.

6 Reasons To Take An RV Family Trip

Aside from the fact that RVing is a way to shake up the routine of staying at hotels, Airbnb or tent camping, I recommend reading this great article that explains 6 reasons why an RV Family Trip is great. I would add a 7th; you get to bring your own grub and eat as healthy or as decadent as you wish during your trip.

Top 3 Misconceptions regarding Recreational Vehicle (RV) Camping

  1. Most RV Campgrounds and/or RV Parks are not to be confused with Mobile Home/Trailer Parks. A huge misconception is that you will be camping along with full-time residents of a Park. While some RV Parks have mixed sites, most RV Parks we've visited are mostly frequented by families on vacation as they enjoy either the RV Park / Campground attractions like Horseback Riding at Fort Wilderness Campground (Disney), or enjoying nearby attractions like the beach in Ft. Myers, beautiful spring waters like Blue Springs, or forest hikes in Ocala National Forest.
  2. RVing can seem like good old primitive camping. Our experience is that once you go RVing, your tent days may be over. Never mind mosquitoes, ants, and/or any other discomforts when spending time in the great outdoors.

What do I need to bring to my RV rental

With E.R.E.S. Camper, you are good to go by bringing your bedding (sheets and comforter, pillows, towels, etc.), and toiletries to enjoy your camping trip. We provide cooking utensils & pots/pans, small appliances (toaster, coffee maker, Air Fryer (see the full list in the rental page)), and plate settings for 6.

Great websites/videos to learn more about RVing

There are tons of great sites and Youtube Channels to get you going. While the learning curve is significant, most important information will be related to road safety and proper operation of the RV equipment, in my opinion. Here are several starting points to get you started:
